[Versus] Cacaote, Senopati

Hello there! We are on our second installment of Versus, the feature where we talked about our different experience visiting one same place. This time around, we are going to talk about one pretty restaurant located in Senopati, one of the hippest culinary place in Jakarta. Just by looking at the exterior, you can already see how pretty it is. The outer appearance looks a bit Victorian and princess-y to us.

Turns out that the inside do look as princess-y as the outside. If I am not mistaken, Cacaote has two floors. Both floors have a contrast vibe. On the pictures, you can see the details of the first floor that looks more girly and feminine. While on the second floor, it looks more glamorous and such.

It happened on our visit that we both went to different floor. Yelny enjoyed her dessert on the first floor during the day and Fili went to the second floor to enjoy not only the dessert but some food as well during dinner time. Either ways, we love the ambient there. The place itself is pretty big and the space between tables are distant enough to give each group of customers the needed privacy.

Some more pretty details on the first floor. Super cozy to enjoy your afternoon tea and dessert, isn't it? Also, look at those chandelier and curtains and pillows, like, everything coordinates very well,

Also, just one picture from the second floor ((huhu, sorry)). The lighting up on the second floor is a bit dimmed, to give you the much needed romantic vibe and coziness. Thus it explains that some of the pictures turn yellowish. Haha.

Now, moving on to the food, shall we? Uh oh. I am typing this in the middle of the night and I am craving for these not just pretty but delicious dessert.

First up is the battle of eclairs. Yelny ordered Crunchy Nuts Eclair for IDR 50,000 and Fili forgot already what she has ordered. lol. Both eclairs are pretty good. Fili also loved the macaron. It was pistachio flavor and it cost IDR 12,000. Love the texture of the macaron and the pistachio flavor is lovely as well.

This one is called Intense Chocolate and cost you IDR 50,000. Just like how the name suggested, it is rich with chocolate and would be a perfect choice if you love chocolate.

Here's the Dark Chocolate cake. I could not remember it correctly if the sides are hazelnut or popcorn. If I am not mistaken it was popcorn, but cmiiw okay? The chocolate cake is nice but the popcorn is a bit soggy, if it is a bit crunchier, I guess it would be very nice.

I also ordered the Tropical which has a good combination of sweet and sour. Also, on the bottom picture you can see another round cake which is coffee banana. As for me I do not really like the coffee banana combination because the banana is a bit too moist.

Also, one of my friend ordered this duck sandwich. I didn't get to taste it but he said that it was nice.Well, I bet it is! hehe.

It wouldn't be complete with some beverage. I ordered Matcha Latte which turns out to be okay, because I am not a big fan of green tea and stuff. My friend ordered the selection of tea which came out in a very pretty teapot and sugar pot. What a pretty tea set.

All in all, both of us had a pretty pleasant visit to Cacaote. The place has a very nice ambient and cozy vibe. I really wanted to spend whole day just chit-chatting or doodling in this pretty place. The desserts here are also pretty nice though not all of them are suited to our preference.

Yeey, cheers!

Market Museum: Surprise Kitchen

One of the hippest and most popular pop-up markets nowadays was coming back. Market & Museum was coming back on last May with a new theme, SURPRISE KITCHEN. This market is food market with many variants such as snacks, dessert, sauces and many more. Yelny was very impatient to visit it because she didn't come to the previous Market & Museum's event.

Surprise Kitchen also held on 5th floor of Grand Indonesia mall. It was coming back with more tenants than the previous one. Oh, and most of them gave free food to try. We like trying new foods haha.  Also, we love taking pictures of food as it's one famous things these days :D.

Molten Lava Cake with 5 flavors: Chocolate, Mocha, Orange, Taro, and Green tea.

Lovely Mickey Cupcake with Oreo flavor

Poached Egg Pastry with half-cooked egg on top

Cute Tokyo Banana and Steamed Cup Cake

Sweet and Crunchy Churros

Cute and Creative wallpaper design. Isn't it?

Photo Booth area with cute and unique decoration

The foods are not so expensive, about 15k-100k. And, most of tenants' products were sold out before they are close. Visitors were also happy with their foods.

Surprise Kitchen was ended up successfully as Market & Museum always brings great concepts. Also, it provides popular tenants with good quality. Btw, it was coming back again on last weekend ( August, 15-17). We were so sad when saw the date, because Yelny is having her holiday in hometown and Fili was busy with her projects. But, we know that Market Museum is coming back again with another greater concept. Tons of lucks! ^^

 Yeey! Cheers!

Pannacotta Etc - Pacific Place

Are you guys a fan of fancy desserts? Well, both of our mouths are, but both of our pockets are...not. Haha. But sometimes, we do spare some of our pocket money to try something new. Quality comes with price, doesn't it? So, nothing to lose!

Some times ago, we tried the infamous pannacotta in the town, Pannacotta Etc. It is located in Pacific Place. The place is not too big, but the interior is pretty lovely, didn't get the chance to take the picture because it was pretty crowded back then and we didn't want to harm others' privacy. Also, the lighting is a bit more yellowish there.

Please excuse out not-so-pretty-hand okay lol. Fyi, the meal that they sold is really only pannacotta, but I am not sure about the beverage though. So, we asked the staff there what were the recommended flavor. He said there were Baileys and Butterscotch. So we went with both of them.

The price for each pannacotta is IDR 30,000. Well, the portion is quite small actually. Moment of truth, we have never tried pannacotta before, but we fell in love instantly. The texture is smooth and it is soft but not as fragile as puddings. The taste is also good. It is sweet but not too sweet and both sauces complement the pannacotta very well. As for the sauce, the butterscotch one is thicker in terms of consistency and it was also our preference.

All in all, it was a pleasant visit to Pannacotta Etc. We can't wait to try out another flavor when we had the chance and possibly taste another pannacotta in town next time.

Yeey, cheers!

Genji Pie Shoppe - Pondok Indah Mall

This time we are talking about a pop-up cafe that opened for a month or so during last April. Too bad we have not set up our blog yet during that time, but the experience we had there are worth to be documented and shared.

We had been seeing the buzz about this unique cafe on internet and of course from Instagram. Also, Yelny is a big fan of Genji Pie. So together with some of our friends, we went to Pondok Indah Mall where the pop-up cafe is located. We arrived there at night because we had some things to be done before that. Turns out that the place was outdoor! Luckily it was not raining. Yay!

The place is so artsy and pretty inside out! As you may have seen in the first picture, that was the entrance of the little cafe. It is very small, but obviously so cute. The whole walls are decorated with illustration and they are all hand-painted! How cool is that!

That's the little corner where they displayed the food.

Inside the pop-up cafe. It is so bright inside. Loving the black and white illustration with pops of color here and there.

Now let us talk about the food. Yeayyy. The top one is what I ordered. It is called 'This is Not A Martini'. It contained chocolate mousse if I am not mistaken. And the next one, I forgot what was the name, but it contained something like steamed cake. I can not remember the taste vividly (sorry!) because it was almost four months ago after all.

Fun twist for those who love savory treats rather than the sweet ones. This one reminded us of a burger. Lovely combination as well!

Also, exploring the outside of the cafe that is painted by Indonesian genius and creative artists! Major love.

How awesome are these!!! The walls were painted by 4 artists if I remember correctly. Also some artists took part in designing the merchandise for the shop.

Also, couldn't pass up this well-decorated stairs and floors that welcomed us from inside the mall. They were decorated with tapes. So colorful!

And a proper photo of two of us haha. Rumor has it that they will be opening another pop-up cafe in another place or maybe city. Well, finger-crossed, who knows that it is not just a rumor! We will be very happy to pay a visit to another Genji Pie Shoppe if the place is reachable and of course if we have the time. We had a really pleasant visit last April and we are both loving this unique pop-up cafe.

Yeey, cheers!
